What is garage development?
Garage development means building a new garage, usually a detached garage in the back of the lot, or developing an existing garage into finished, heated space. Kay2 handles both, from design and permits to the slab, framing, roof, electrical and finishes.
Do I need a permit to build a garage in Calgary?
New garages generally need a City of Calgary building permit, plus electrical permits for new circuits. Kay2 prepares the drawings and takes care of the permits and inspections.
How much does a garage with a suite above cost in Calgary?
An attached garage with a finished living space above typically runs $250,000 to $420,000 in 2026, depending on size, finishes and site conditions. A standalone garage costs less, and you receive a fixed-price proposal after design.
