Rutland Park Revamp
A family home reworked on every level: an open main floor with the kitchen at its heart, a new mudroom, an upstairs ensuite and a finished basement.
The owners loved their Rutland Park home, but it no longer fit their growing family. Kay2 redesigned the main floor and the basement, and reworked the upper floor.
On the main floor, load-bearing walls came out to create an open layout with the kitchen at its centre, made for cooking and gathering together. A new mudroom with built-in storage makes everyday comings and goings easier.
Upstairs, a bedroom became a primary ensuite and walk-in closet. Downstairs, Kay2 added two bedrooms, a full bathroom and a large rec room for the family to spread out. The project was a finalist for Best Home Renovation (Without Addition) at the 2022 BILD Calgary Region Awards, the year Kay2 was named Renovator of the Year.
